Michelangelo Scandroglio began to learn jazz with the Italian master double-bass player Ares Tavolazzi
(AREA, Gil Evans orchestra, Enrico Rava) and classical with M.Gabriele Ragghianti .
He mastered his jazz studies with Joe Sanders, Harish Raghavan, Ben Street during the
Siena Jazz International Workshop and classical studies with
Damiano D’amico at ISSM Luigi Boccherini of Lucca.
Since he was a child he was finalist and he won many prestigious competitions and scholarships such as “CMM Music Competition”, “Premio Rotary “, “Siena Jazz Kind of Blue“ (best student/ Scholarship), “Premio Renato Maggi”, “Concorso Chicco Bettinardi” (Finalist) , Riga International Jazz competition 2018 , BASSEUROPE2018 ,
"Tomorrow’s jazz” , “Lufrano Chaves prize” and many others.
He have the opportunity to play and collaborate frequently with Italian jazz giants including Stefano “Cocco” Cantini, Nico Gori, Carlo Atti, Flavio Boltro , Fabrizio Bosso , Stefano Tamborrino , Alessandro Lanzoni , Walter Paoli and some recognized Jazz Player among which Logan Richardson, Glenn Ferris, Ben van Gelder, Marvin Smith ,
Alex Sipiagin, Gregory Hutchinson
In 2018 he recorded his first album as a leader with all original composition , and with a band composed by Alessandro Lanzoni on piano , Bernardo Guerra on drums , Peter Wilson on guitar , Hermon Mehari on trumpet and as a special guest Logan Richardson
